G’day My name is Robert Gee and this product has been in the making for 2 years. It became apparent that we needed to cover the power switched once my daugher had discovered them conveniently at her level. My daughter Violet developed a habit of switching off the cordless phone which went unnoticed for almost 24 hours and not to mention sneaking up and turning my printer off that requires a shut down procedure. The option to move furniture in front of the outlets to stop her access was not a feasable choice in a most cases due to the position of the power point in the room.

The quest for a power outlet cover began. I live in Melbourne, looking in what l thought was the most logical places e.g. Bunnings and multiple baby stores. I then proceeded online where I found a product that for me did not suit my application.

After thinking that there was a deficiency of choice in the market when it came to trying to solve this problem. I got a bright idea that I could produce something that I would want to buy. So that’s what I did. Now with the product being a reality there is another option out there for parents alike.

Two Years might not sound like much for a product to go from a thought to entering the market but when you never done it before it’s quite an educating experience.It was with the assistance of Lloyd Joseph (Plastic Design Engineer) of SIPlas Pty Ltd. the process begun. With Lloyds skills my basic idea took a journey from here on, drawings to 3D simulations to phyisical prototypes, it was exciting.During the design stage we ensured that we complied to the (AS/NZS 3112:2011) Australian/New Zealand Standard. Approval and test specification- plugs and socket outlets.Although there was a lot more to consider other than just creating the product there was a need to create company, further more, trademark design & registration, packaging design, market pricing ect. So GEEWHIZZMAN Pty Ltd was born.

The Gee Whizz Protector is designed to cover standard Australian double power points. This new Australian owned product was invented to protect your child and equipment quickly and easily..
